Identity, uprooted. My Korean story begins in Russia, and the absence of a foundation is a physical sensation – there is no solid ground beneath my feet. The sense of belonging shrinks to a heavy fragment, permanently suspended in the void.
Without soil, heritage does not fade. It blooms as a peony – moran in Korean. The enormous flowers have no room on this severed scrap of earth, yet they continue their stubborn, heavy bloom. There is no one to share this with.
